Teaching, speaking & workshops

Making design technology approachable

I teach GIS and computational design at NC State and speak about the tools changing landscape architecture. I'm available for conference sessions, firm lunch-and-learns, guest lectures, and hands-on workshops.

Topics

Talks & workshops I can offer

Each can be a talk, an interactive session, or a hands-on workshop, tailored to your audience.

Civil 3D for landscape architects

Why and how landscape architects should own their grading in Civil 3D, with real workflows for surfaces, feature lines, and coordination with civil engineers.

GIS for designers

Using ArcGIS Pro for site inventory, terrain and hydrology, and suitability analysis that actually shapes design decisions.

Computational design in the landscape

An approachable introduction to Rhino and Grasshopper for terrain, patterns, fabrication, and analysis.

Measuring sunlight on a site

Sun, shade, and planting decisions, and what I learned building the Deconstruct Sun app.
